I am the first one to admit that I have a shoe problem and a luxury / designer shoe problem at that. I told you that as an Irish Beauty Blogger that I would investigate luxury and designer items and I am taking that task seriously…so is my bank balance at that!
I made a couple of key purchases this summer and now that I have them I don’t know how I survived without them. Let me introduce the Christian Louboutin So Kate Patent in the colour Nude. These are from the Fall/Winter Collection 2013 and I can’t believe that it has taken me so long to purchase these. Shocking really!!
Price: I think compared to the price of some other Christian Louboutin shoes, these are very reasonably priced. These beauties come in at £425 and are worth the price tag in my opinion.
Availability: I ordered my shoes from the online store. I would consider myself a Louboutin fanatic so you can image my shock when I realised that they had a website! I always knew they had a website but didn’t realise they had an online store! I have spent many moons checking availability in different department stores only to be told that the style I am looking for has sold out …but no longer shall I need to do this!
Hype: Louboutins in general receive a lot of hype however I haven’t heard or seen anything regarding the So Kate nude. I will be creating a lot of hype as I am in love with these shoes!
Functionality: These shoes are fashion. …. therefore they are not meant to be comfortable. Luckily I find them quite comfortable but then again I have a very narrow foot and a high instep (as evidenced in the picture above) so instead of these hurting my foot they seem to support it. I wear heels on a regular basis so height generally isn’t a issue for me however I would say that I do have to concentrate when walking in these heels. In terms of functionality these shoes are best suited to a dinner and drinks sort of evening rather than a night on the tiles. I had to “endure” both to give them a proper test! I would also say that these are not for the work environment.
Special Features: Toe Cleavage! I know that this isn’t a special feature really but it is a given in these heels. No matter how I wear these heels my toes can always been seen and I have read that Mr Christian Louboutin does have a “thing” for toe cleavage.
Measurements: The heel height is 120mm but I would say that they feel higher when you have them on. It may be the way that your foot is positioned in them.
Size: I am usually a 38 or 38.5 in Louboutins’ as well as regular shoes. I selected a 38 and they fit perfectly. I went to a boutique in Edinburgh that sells Louboutins’ and tried both sizes on in the So Kate style just to make sure. I would advise you do the same as you want to make sure that they are the perfect fit.
Style match:I found these similar heels in Office and although they are suede they seem to give a similar toe cleavage as the SoKate.
Style Type: My style with these is everything from a classic cream top and jeans right through to a formal dress. These are so versatile but definitely a firm summer favourite. The neutral colour of the shoes makes them an easy choice to compliment most outfits.
I would love to hear any suggestions of how you think that I should wear or style these shoes.
